postgraduate's BBQ

there was a school induction for all postgrads regarding the new rules and regulations and etc. then after the induction we had the usual weekly seminars and right after that there was a BBQ!
Kate and Sarah were very thoughtful, they bought Halal sausages and vegetables patties.
when all the lectures left, somebody (was it irida?) went to the music box or whatever it is called, and finally we chose a song by Michael Jackson - Black or White.hahaha and everybody started dancing ( i dont think it was dancing, it was more like jumping and running and laughing).it was funny. maybe we should do this every month

IBP presentation-21 may 2008
|
|
all international students doing masters by research and phd are required to attend the IBP course for 1 semester. during this IBP, there are lectures and tutorials -mostly about proposal writing and english language usage. at the end of the semester, all students must present and submit their proposal. if the graduate center is not satisfied, then u have to resit the course again.
my presentation was on the 21 may. sangat la nervous. tapi bila dah abis present tu rasa lega gile.

i have to present my proposal during our weekly group meeting, and as a preparation for the IBP and discipline seminar. it was not very formal, and i got lots of feedback.

adelaide zoo - 10 may 2008

we went to adelaide zoo during my parent's in-law visit. in the morning, irida n me n ying n rugang and all the post-grads+ vet students were scheduled for a Q fever vaccination. Q fever is a disease that one might get while handling with animals. the first visit to the clinic was scary, because there was a blood test and a skin test. it was painful. then the next week we have to see the doctor again for the vaccine.
anyway, after settling everything at the clinic, irida n me went to the zoo , adi n PIL waited for us there.
the zoo is not as big as taronga zoo and i really enjoyed my self. not many pictures of me, was too excited taking pictures of the animals

a day at the lab
|
|
it was a sunday and i had lots of things to do. so i decided to go to the lab, and adi was very kind to follow me to the lab. he brought the laptop, and while i was doing my work, he did some work as well - surfing, games etc.
since i haven't took any pictures in the lab, i pun berposing la memandangkan encik fotografer ada kat situ.
ini la lab saya.

lab cleaning day

cindy wanted us to clean the lab- pembersihan besar-besaran. all the freezers and fridges telah dikosongkan and we sortes out things that should be toss.and as a result, there were lots of empty shelves in the fridges and freezers. there were heaps of thingy that we toss.

masak2 with rini

rini is an indonesian who works for peter and amy.peter and amy are both staff at the uni and rini's job is to look after the kids.she is a very good cook, she made nice spring rolls. so one day, rini came to my house to teach irida n me how to make spring rolls.its very easy and so yummy.
on that day, i made some meatballs and spaghetti.irida made err... tak ingat nama dia apa.n also kuih ketayap or what ever you call it.
