ibu dessy's parents are going back to indonesia, so we had a farewell dinner.
since it was a working day, irida and me did not have time to prepare anything, so we bought a caramel mudcake.yummy

open house 4 october 2008

it's not really an open house, more like dinner, but because it was during Syawal and the food served were Raya foods, so macam open house la. open house keci-kecilan je, we only invited our neighbours- irida, pak liem n family, tai, lei n zhu. tu je.
i cooked rendang ayam kurang pedas, randang daging, sambal tumis udang, nasi impit. then when i was looking around at the asian groceries, i found a "instant kuah kacang-brahim". so i bought 2 packs, and the taste is not bad! not too spicy, so my taiwanese friends enjoyed it ver much.
irida masak lamb, or namanya "karam minachi" and ais buah.
ibu dessy bawa spring rolls.
that was the first time for tai, lei n zhu makan nasi impit and rendang.

BBQ for International Students, Waite Campus -2 Oct 2008

Jane, our international student advisor telah mengorganize BBQ untuk international students from Waite n Roseworthy Campus. Disebabkan student Waite lagi ramai, terpaksa la student Roseworthy pergi Waite. Saya dan Irida tumpang Lei, n kami pun berkonvoi dengan Pak Liem. Lei berenti kat stesen minyak nak amik minyak, pastu kete dah tak boleh start. panik jap semua orang. pastu setelah bersusah payah, kereta Lei pun berjaya start, masalah bateri rupanya.
sampai kat Waite 15 minit lambat, tapi tak kisah la, yg penting selamat sampai dan makan. ni je gamba setakat ni, nanti saya minta gamba ngn org lain

Selamat hari raya aidilfitri!
maaf zahir batin 
pagi2 dah keluar pergi masjid, tp terlambat sikit, sampai2 je terus sembahyang.
pastu pergi umah kak salina, ada makan2.
pastu pergi harbour town, bershoping sakan. beli jeans 3 helai kat Rivers, 1 helai $15, and beli shirt kat Esprit $15. hehe

Buka puasa @ our house 20 Sept 2008

|
We invited Irida, Pak Liem, Bu Dessy and Kiki to our house for buka puasa. I cooked kungpow chicken and daging masak hitam, Irida made pecal and "ais buah" and Bu Dessy brought fried noodles. Makan sampai kenyang gile, sampai dah tak larat nak bangun. So in the end, terawih start lambat.

Beef CRC Meeting, La Trobe University, Melbourne- 15 Sept 2008
|
|
My project is sponsored by Beef CRC Australia, and they normally organize 2 meetings every year. The first one this year was in Adelaide, I think it was in February. And the second meeting is in Melbourne. So, I was asked to present my research updates during that meeting. Since Cindy is not around, and David is in Armidale, only Wayne (my co-supervisor) and me attended the meeting.
It was a one day trip. We had to leave the house very early in the morning, because the fliight was supposed to be at 6.45 am. But the flight was delayed until 8.30 am! 
And when we were about to take off, it started to rain! That was such an experience.
We were 45 minutes late. And at some point, I was really sleepy and almost fall asleep during the meeting.
It was the fasting month, so I couldn't eat or drink anything, and interestingly, I break fast in the plane, with crackers and dips.
Anyway, because it was a one day trip, I didn't get to see Melbourne a lot, it was only the airport, and the meeting room in La Trobe.

goodbye winter, hello spring!

yeay, winter is over and spring is in the air.
the weather is unpredictable now, it can be sunny today, and you would never expect it would be raining cats and dogs on the next day.
anyway, the flowers are starting to bloom, and it is such a wonderful scene with stunning colours everywhere.
enjoy the flowers!

anyway, this was during our trip to the airport, sending irida off.she was on 1 month holiday, and of course la dia balik kampung.
