Kangaroo Island - 26 April 2009 - Day 3
|
|
A summary of our trip to K.I. (still no in the mood to write)
1st day - 24 April 2009
Drove from Roseworthy to Cape Jarvis (3.5 hours)
Ferry ride from Cape Jarvis to Penneshaw (45 minutes) *Irida muntah, Adi n me mabuk laut, Bec was ok
Drove from Penneshaw to Kingscote (1 hour)
Had dinner at Kingscote - fish n chips
Got lost finding Rachel's farm
2nd day - 25 April 2009
Went to Emu Bay
Went to the old school
Went to Rachel's sheep farm *tried to help but ended up looking around and took pictures
Went for a campfire and fishing that night - it was so cold and raining and wet and windy and you can imagine how it feels like. Did not catch any fish anyway, had great experienced making damper
3rd day - 26 April 2009
Went to eucalyptus farm
Went to honey bee farm * had the yummy honey ice-cream
Went to the sheep dairy farm
Had lunch together with Rachel and her dad - we cooked Maggi perasa ayam with egg and suprisingly, they like it very much!
Went for the penguin tour that night *saw lots of little penguins
4th day - 27 April 2009
Went to Rachel's parents to say goodbye *her mum was milking the cow at that time
Went to the Flinders Chase National Park - *where the Remarkable Rocks, Admiral Arch and Seal look out are situated
Took the ferry back at 3.00 pm
Arrived in Roseworthy around 9.00 pm
The end.
Overall, we had a really great time over there, and it would be nicer if the weather was not so cold and wet.

Oooouuu it's been ages since my last entry (baru 2 bulan )
Been busy and lazy and been away to 'tanah tumpahnya darahku" for 3 weeks.
So now here I am, trying to sort things out.
I will try to update slowly and will make sure the entries are posted chronologically.

IndoFest 2009- 5 April 2009

|
Weekend yang macam-macam aktiviti. Semalamnye pergi garage sale n ada dinner, arini pulak pergi Indofest kat Adelaide city. Sampai lambat sikit, so tak sempat la tengok Bu Dessy and Id buat cooking demo, and tak dapat la rasa mee goreng nye Anyway, lepas pusing-pusing kat area tu, kitorg pun beratur la untuk beli makanan. Ada 2 kedai je yang ada tanda halal, so mmg panjang gile la barisannya. Kitorg beli bakso, kapal selam n tahu tek n cendol. Bakso nye ok, tp masin sikit, tahu tek tu macam gado-gado la, ada tahu n sayur ngan kuah kacang. pastu kapal selam tu, taktau la nak explain cammane. dia buat dari tepung n ikan, pastu dalam dia ada telur, makan ngn kicap. lebih kurang cam tu la. cendol aritu tak best sgt. disebabkan terlalu lapar, lupa plak nak amik gamba makanan.pas makan, kitorg pun pergi harbour town, cari handbag untuk mak ni, then pegi the village amik poh, and balik umah.

Dinner with Babu and Renu - 4 April 2009
|
|
Setelah bershoppingan di garage sale, kitorg pun pergi membeli groceries kat Gawler. Balik rumah, saya terus mula masak, sebab malam nanti ada dinner. Kami dengan berbesar hati telah menjemput jiran tetangga yang baik hati, iaitu Babu dan Renu untuk makan malam di rumah, beserta Irida. Poh juga dijemput tapi dia tidak dapat hadir.
Babu is from India, and he is working with SARDI. Renu pula dari Singapore and she's currently taking some courses here.
Menu untuk malam itu ialah ayam masak lemak, sambal udang dan sayur campur. Sementara saya sibuk memasak, Adi pula sibuk men'samak' semua pingan2 yang baru dibeli itu.
Irida telah membuat sticky date puding yang sangat enak. Nanti kalau saya dah berjaya buat, saya buat satu entry ye.
Anyway, we had a good time and sangat la penat.

Freeling is a small town, around 30 minutes drive from Roseworthy. On the 4th of April, there was a garage sale besar-besaran kat Freeling, there are 61 houses yang took part. So Adi n me, Irida, Rebecca and Bu Dessy's family telah pergi beramai2 ke sana.
Things are cheap and most of them are still good. Rebecca bought 2 books, one for 20cents and the other one for $1.And she was also lucky to find a dryer for $5.Irida bought a whole set of cooking encylopedia for only $4, a phone with answering machine for $4 and a set of coaster for $2. What did i buy? A set of 4 dining plates and 3 smaller plates for $1, a whole box of cawan, pinggan and segala macam for $5, and 5 glasses for $2. Kami semua sangat berpuas hati dengan hasil pembelian hari itu. Semoga ada lagi garage sale yang best2 macam tu lagi.

Earth hour - 28 March 2009

Nothing much, I did some gardening in the evening. Saya telah menanam segala jenis tumbuhan yang saya rasa boleh ditanam yang saya jumpa kat dapur - eg bawang putih, bawang merah, halia, serai and cili. Tapi tak sure la pulak boleh hidup ke tak. So far bawang putih je la yang berjaya And saya juga telah memandai- mandai memotong pokok bunga kertas yang dah semakin membesar itu, dan tanam dalam 3 pasu yang lain. Macam tak hidup je. Tapi takpe, kita tunggu spring,mana la tau masa spring baru nampak hasilnye
Malam, 8.30 - 9.30, tutup semua lampu n suis-suis elektrik, kecuali fridge la kan. Maka, kami pun membuat bintang-bintang dari wrapper lama untuk dipenuhkan dalam pasu bunga.Sekian saja kisah earth hour
